Thanks to the support of the Lombardy Region and the Lombardy Chamber System under the “SI4.0 2025 Call”, the working group coordinated by lead partner TUTTOTONDO S.r.l. has launched the development activities of the project CULTURA AI – Cognitive Urban Landscapes for Territorial User Routes and Archives with Artificial Intelligence.
The project is part of TUTTOTONDO’s ongoing research and development pathway focused on the digitalization of cultural and territorial routes, and represents the technological evolution of solutions already tested in previous years. In particular, CULTURA AI transforms an existing platform (TRATOO) into a new advanced digital product, enhanced with artificial intelligence functionalities, predictive analytics and dynamic management of territorial content.

CULTURA AI
Beneficiary: TUTTOTONDO S.r.l.
Call: SI4.0 2025
General objective: To promote the development of innovative solutions, products and/or services focused on new digital skills and technologies, in line with the strategy defined by the National Transition Plan 5.0.
Brief description: Development of an intelligent digital platform for the creation and management of cultural and natural routes, based on AI and advanced data management systems, capable of analysing user behaviour, supporting route personalization and fostering the sustainable enhancement of the territory.
Objectives
The CULTURA AI project aims to make cultural and territorial routes dynamic, intelligent and continuously updatable, moving beyond a static approach to place mapping.
More specifically, the project seeks to:
- build digital twins of routes and places, progressively enriched with information, metadata and digital content;
- introduce user profiling systems and analysis of visitor behavior;
- support flow prediction and the automated creation of personalized thematic routes;
- promote more sustainable territorial management by distributing visitor flows across less frequented areas.
The project adopts a human-in-the-loop approach, allowing authorized operators to validate, update and enrich content, while maintaining human oversight over AI-supported decision-making processes.
Proposed solution
The solution developed within CULTURA AI consists of a modular digital platform integrating advanced software components and phygital user experiences.
Specifically, the system includes:
- an artificial intelligence and machine learning module for analyzing usage data, profiling users and generating predictive route suggestions;
- a territorial data management and analysis system enabling public bodies and cultural operators to monitor interactions, most accessed content and the impact of cultural initiatives in real time;
- digital and immersive experiences delivered through web and mobile applications and AR/VR content, allowing users to explore culturally enriched routes both on site and remotely.
In its operational use, CULTURA AI is applied in real cultural contexts, where it supports route management and user experience, enabling the collection of usage data and the progressive refinement of platform functionalities in relation to territorial specificities, as in the case of testing activities carried out at the pilot site “Culture Hub” in Besano.
The platform is designed as a scalable product, adaptable to different territorial contexts and integrable with existing infrastructures (such as the TRATOO digital platform).
Expected impact
The CULTURA AI project is designed to generate tangible and measurable impact on multiple levels.
From a territorial perspective, the platform improves accessibility and the quality of cultural heritage experiences, fostering a more conscious relationship between users and places. At a social level, the project supports inclusive and participatory models of cultural enhancement. From an environmental standpoint, it encourages a more balanced distribution of visitor flows, helping to reduce overcrowding and promote sustainable tourism.
Finally, from an economic perspective, CULTURA AI provides public bodies and cultural operators with new digital tools to support the management and promotion of cultural services.
